presumption of continuity to the present moment of the status of a previously non-existent thing or condition such condition being of legal consequences such as عدم اشتغال ذمه that is clearance from debt or merely a condition marked by the ‘absence’ of something, such as عدم حيات ie absence of life, or ‘death’; in Persian the terms for such things or conditions always beginning with عدم ie non-existence or absence of … and hence the term meaning ‘presumption of continued non-existence of a previously non-existent thing’
